Responding to Pain

The Creator’s Response to Pain
Genesis 3:1-19, Isaiah 53, Matthew 26:53-54, Philippians 2:1-11

He freely loves me. I cannot earn his love by making sacrifices or keeping commitments. His love is a gift.
He gives me freedom to accept or reject him as Lord of my life.
He met all the conditions for my acceptance. I cannot meet those conditions because of my sinful character and performance.
He let go of the power and glory he had as the Creator. He became a man and accepted the limitations of humanity that were placed on him by the Father.
He highly values me, letting go of his position, power, glory, and life for me. He determined my value.
He became a servant.
He is humble, bearing the pain and hurt caused by my sin without reviling me or threatening me back.
He was obedient to God's Word, the Bible, when obedience meant suffering and dying for me.
